For a healthy, happy baby
To help establish a foundation for the health of your baby throughout his or her life, it’s important to have a healthy pregnancy. Dr. Fraser will work with you to develop a plan based on your own personal health and medical history. Even before your first visit, you can get things off to a good start.
Folic acid is especially important in pregnancy – it is a good idea to start taking prenatal vitamins even if you are just thinking about pregnancy. Folic acid can be found in prenatal vitamins and supplemental folic acid tablets.
Some substances can cause serious harm to your baby that will last his or her whole lifetime, including:
-
-Tobacco
-
-Alcohol
-
-Drugs
-
-Mercury in fish or seafood
Medications (prescription and over-the-counter) and supplements may also harm your baby. Schedule an appointment early to discuss your medications with Dr. Fraser.
Wear your seatbelt (including the shoulder belt in the proper position) and take extra care while driving.
